This class will take you on a journey within your soul. The shadow represents the darker aspects within, the parts of us that the conscious mind often chooses to ignore. The shadow within us holds trauma, fear, and self doubt. So why address it? Because when we go into the darkness, feel, process, and move through it we can experience more light than ever imaginable. Samhain, also known as Witches New Year, is on Halloween and ends on Day of the Dead. This cross-quarter holiday celebrates the cycle of death and rebirth. This is the perfect time of year to do Shadow Work which can help bring awareness into who we are, resulting in inspirations, soul purpose, growing edges, and excitement! This work can challenge our limits and having plant allies during this process to self actualization can be incredibly supportive.

Come celebrate community immunity and resilience with us as we mark the 1-year anniversary of the Santa Rosa fires. Enjoy free plant medicines, flower essences and herbal treats. Learn to make an herbal syrup!

At noon, join staff herbalist Jocelyn Boreta in making some nourishing lung syrup with Yerba Santa, a sticky-leafed shrub which grows in abundance in central and southern California grasslands, especially in areas touched by wildfire (its seeds germinate with fire). Yerba Santa supports lung health by toning respiratory tissue and is traditionally used as a sacred herb to free the breath and release deep sadness.

At 1 PM Lily will be making Fire Cider. If you've never tasted fire cider before, you're in for a treat! This zesty, delicious vinegar preparation straddles the line between food and medicine, and has been used for centuries by grandmothers and traditional herbalists alike to ward off contagion, break up congestion, open the airways, thin secretions, enhance circulation, and stimulate digestion. And making it is FUN—it feels like a good dose of kitchen magic. Fire cider is the antidote to all things cold, damp, and stagnant. Space for hands-on Yerba Santa Syrup and Fire Cider is limited.

Please note: Our Fall Immunity sale is extended through this event, and the first 25 attendees get a special gift! Also... our Fall Immunity sale will increase from 10% to 20% during the event - in store only!

As we approach the 1-year anniversary of the North Bay fires, under skies of this year’s devastating fires, lets come together and nourish our lungs. Did you know that according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) the lungs are the center for grief, loss and in-turn regeneration? The lungs are responsible for taking clean, oxygen rich air into the body, and breathing out air full of harmful carbon dioxide. They are responsible for taking in the new and letting go of the old, the constant cycle of life. Exposure to toxic smoke compromises lung health and can lead to imbalance. According to TCM, the best time to tonify the lung is in the autumn. Come make some nourishing lung syrup with Yerba Santa, a sticky-leafed shrub which grows in abundance in central and southern California grasslands, especially in areas touched by wildfire (its seeds germinate with fire). Yerba Santa supports lung health by toning respiratory tissue and is traditionally used as a sacred herb to free the breath and release deep sadness.
