Need we say more? Treat yourself. This smoothie is packed with fiber, protein, and healthy fats to keep you fueled through your day. And antioxidant cacao provides a pick-me-up while you’re limiting or eliminating caffeine.
8-12 oz of water or nut milk of your choice
1/4 avocado or 1/3 banana
1-2 dates pits removed
½ c organic hazelnuts, best if soaked overnight (you can discard soaking water)
1-2 tsps chia and/or flax seeds (best if ground)
1 tbsp organic cacao powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 serving protein powder of choice (we recommend NutriBiotic’s Raw, Organic Brown Rice Protein OR Great Lakes Collagen)
Combine all ingredients in your blender and blend until creamy and smooth. Adjust for desired consistency and sweetness.
*If more sweetness is desired, add 1-3 drops organic liquid stevia.
*The no-sugar version of this smoothie leaves out the dates, uses avocado instead of banana, and uses more vanilla, and stevia (if desired).
*Use 1 tbsp nut butter if avocados are unavailable to you.
*If you have reflux, omit the cacao, and use carob powder or extra vanilla + 1 tsp cinnamon instead.
