N-Acetyl Cysteine

N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) is a precursor of the tripeptide glutathione - a critical antioxidant, with roles in xenobiotic detoxification, amino acid metabolism and immune defense. NAC acts as a mucolytic agent and thus assists normal respiratory function. By acting as a glutathione precursor, NAC helps maintain normal immune, liver and cardiovascular function.
