Topical Oil Blends for Health & Beauty
Because essential oils are so concentrated, it is important to blend them with a carrier oil whenever they are used topically. Any fat-based oil (Jojoba, Almond, Olive, Avocado, Coconut, Argan etc.) or skin lotion can be used as a carrier oil in aromatherapy. Carrier oils help spread the essential oils out over a greater surface area, preventing possible skin irritation. They also help hold the essential oil onto the skin so it can be absorbed quickly before evaporating.
